Waterlife Seadrometer Hydrometer
For measurement of the specific gravity of seawater.
Using your SeaDrometer
Use the outer test tube container, filled with a sample of your aquarium sea water and gently float the SeaDrometer in it. Agitate the SeaDrometer to remove any bubbles adhering to it, as these will give rise to false readings.
Please note: The SeaDrometer must not make contact with the side of the test tube. The Specific gravity reading should be read below the surface (meniscus) of the water. The correct reading is given which is closest to the surface of the water.
Clean the Seadrometer after use. If the specific gravity (S.G) reading is to low add waterlife ultramarine sea salt to increase the S.G. If the S.G. reading is to high for species being kept add freshwater. Make salinity changes gradually over the longest period of time. Use your SeaDrometer regularly to help prevent dramatic changes in salinity. The SeaDrometer is a precious instrument, avoid impact as this will effect accuracy.
SeaDrometer range covers 1.010-1.030 (accuracy 0.002) Calibration temperature: 24/25 *C
SeaDrometer Calibrations
The lime green area which appears on the SeaDrometer's calibration scale represents the average salinity in between which your fish and/or invertebrates will be comfortable.
