Polyfilter is an invaluable asset to both fresh-water and marine aquariums and is virtually unsurpassed in the removal of medications within quarantine tanks.

Polyfilter is for filtering and purifying both fresh and salt water aquariums.It is a formulation of a special patented material bonded to a synthetic matrix. By means of a unique proprietary process, Polyfilter is made impervious to salt and attracts certain organic materials. It can absorb and adsorb contaminants and other toxic materials found in nature or added to fresh and salt water with or without fish and invertebrates.

Medication added to fresh and salt water aquariums for treatment of diseased fish will automatically be removed by Polyfilter after serving their intended purpose before the medication can produce a toxic effect on the fish.

Polyfilter is non-toxic and harmless to biological filtration because it allows a sufficient amount of ammonia to reach the biological filter in order to sustain the bacteria culture. Polyfilter provides a supplemental means for the removal of ammonia when the biological filter is unable to break down excess ammonia or if the concentration increases rapidly.

Polyfilter adsorbs the excess ammonia while the biological filter re-adjusts to the higher ammonia input levels.

We recommend that all fish keepers use one of these in their tanks, polyfilters are simply unrivaled at removing harmful toxins and chemicals from aquarium water.

Unlike carbon it will not remove trace elements from the water, nor will it soften the water.

The Standard size can be cut up to fit in external & internal filters or simply placed in the sump tank

Our product is freshly imported, and that's why it comes in brand new packaging.

Product in no packaging or Green 'Underworld' packaging will be older stock (they are usually much stiffer). Polyfilter will change colour to indicate what contaminants have been removed from your aquarium, including:

POLYFILTER INSTALLATION:

A) Conventional Power Filters
Place the POLY-FILTER on the bottom plate or surface of the power filter. It can be covered with regular polyester pads and/or gravel. DO NOT COMPLETELY COVER THE BOTTOM PLATE WITH THE POLY-FILTER. The POLY-FILTER should have water flow over and around it to function effectively.

B) Plastic Undergravel Filters
Push aside gravel covering the filter plate and place the POLY-FILTER on top of the undergravel filter plate. Cover both the undergravel filter and the POLY-FILTER with gravel.

C) Canister-Type Power Filters
Place conventional filtration materials on the bottom of the canister. Then place several POLY-FILTERS in layers on top of these materials.

Do not install the POLY-FILTER so as to restrict water flow. It is essential to have water flow over and around the POLY-FILTER. You may trim the POLY-FILTER with a scissors to fit any situation without losing any of its effectiveness. Finally, cover the POLY-FILTER with a layer of material, the more porous the better, or use non-rusting screen material to prevent the POLY-FILTER from floating to the surface.

Tip: Put the Polyfilter somewhere where it won't become clogged with detritus, do not use as expensive filter wool.
